CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:
Macrame is a form of textile, in which we do not weave with a loom or knit with needles or crochet, but only knot with our hands. This is the wonderful thing about this art, since one can create under any conditions, without complicated facilities, equipment, or preparation. Most texts mention that the art of macrame was born in the Arab countries, around the 13th century AD.
Rattan is the best and most widely used natural material for furniture making. Rattan grown in Indonesia is the highest quality and most durable material than others grown in other regions. Generally, Rattan is a naturally growing type of vine that is native to tropical regions of Australia, Asia, and Africa. For productive use, the skin is removed and used for weaving purposes. Often, the core is not wasted and finds use for different types of furniture. With more than 600 different species, RATTAN can be distinguished as a strong fibrous plant similar to bamboo and used for furniture because it is light, durable, flexible, and attractive.

MAINTENANCE:
All the hammock needs, is a dusting and when necessary, a cleaning with a damp cloth. In general, though, macrame can be washed under running water and air dried.
